Mining Equipment Maintenance & Plant Services

In the mining sector, asset reliability is the only metric that matters. When a primary gyratory or cone crusher goes down, the cost isn’t measured in hours – it’s measured in tonnage lost and millions of dollars.

Specialised Crusher Services (SCS) provides mining equipment maintenance and shutdown support for Australia’s heavy resource sector. We currently hold maintenance contracts with major Tier 1 mines across NSW and South Australia, delivering end-to-end support for Gold, Copper, and Ore extraction Crushing circuits.

Reliability for the long haul. Download our Capability Statement to view our mining contract history and safety records.

Heavy Equipment Maintenance for Extraction

The primary circuit takes the heaviest abuse. We specialise in the heavy-lift maintenance required for these massive assets.

Mining environments punish equipment in ways other industries don’t. We specialise in the maintenance of heavy equipment exposed to extreme abrasion, high impact, and continuous 24-hour operation.

Our mining maintenance capabilities include:

  • Crusher Relines & Repairs: Precision maintenance for large-scale Gyratory, Jaw, and Cone crushers. We handle concave changes, eccentric bush replacements, and mainframe inspections.
  • Screening & Feeding: Maintenance of vibrating screens, grizzlies, and apron feeders critical to the ROM (Run of Mine) pad.
  • Conveyors: Heavy-duty belt maintenance, splicing, and roller change-outs for high-capacity overland conveyors.

Shutdowns & Planned Outages

Successful shutdowns require precision planning and critical-path execution. SCS provides fully supervised teams to execute major mining plant maintenance scopes within tight windows.

  • 24/7 Execution: During shutdowns, we run continuous shifts to ensure critical path works are completed on time.
  • Safety First: We operate under a strict “Zero Harm” framework. We are ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) certified and fully versed in mine-site specific inductions and isolation procedures.
  • Project Management: We don’t just supply bodies; we supply supervision, tooling, and planning support to ensure the scope is delivered safely.

Why Tier 1 Miners Choose SCS

We bridge the gap between an OEM (who knows the machine) and a local contractor (who knows the urgency).

  1. Compliance: We carry the ISO certifications (9001, 14001, 45001) required to step onto any Tier 1 site in Australia.
  2. Agility: Unlike massive multi-nationals, we can mobilise crews and fabricate emergency parts at our Orange Workshop rapidly.
  3. Experience: We have over a decade of experience working on high-compliance sites. We know the paperwork, the permits, and the pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are committed to operating to internationally recognised standards for safety, environmental responsibility, and quality. Through certified ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 management systems, we prioritise the safety of our people, minimise environmental impact, and consistently deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes for our clients.

What mining equipment does SCS maintain?

We specialise in fixed plant mining equipment maintenance, specifically crushing and screening circuits. This includes Gyratory, Cone, and Jaw crushers, as well as apron feeders, vibrating screens, and conveyor systems used in hard rock extraction.

Do you provide crews for mine shutdowns?
Yes. SCS provides experienced mechanical crews, supervisors, and boilermakers for planned shutdowns. We operate on a 24/7 roster during these periods to ensure heavy equipment maintenance is completed within the shutdown window.
Is SCS certified to work on Tier 1 mine sites?

Yes. We hold ISO 45001 (Safety), ISO 9001 (Quality), and ISO 14001 (Environment) certifications as well as contracts with many Tier 1 mine sites throughout Australia. Our team is experienced with strict mine-site compliance, risk assessments (JHAs/SWMS), and isolation protocols.

Can you repair mining equipment components off-site?

Yes. For components that cannot be repaired in the pit or plant, we transport them to our Orange Workshop. We have full fabrication and machining capabilities to refurbish crusher heads, bowls, and structural frames before returning them to site.
